South Hall accommodates over 400 individuals in apartment-style suites featuring an in-suite washer and dryer, a common living room and an eat-in kitchen. Most suites have four single bedrooms and two bathrooms for four occupants. A limited number of 3-person, three single bedroom suites; 4-person, one double and two single bedroom suites; and 5-person, five single bedroom suites also exist in South Hall.
South Hall has been built in accordance with the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) standards and includes green design features such as floor-to-ceiling bay windows for increased daylight, low-flow water fixtures and Energy Star applicances. GW has also purchased Renewable Wind Energy Credits (RECs) for 70 precent of the electricity used in this building for the first two years.
For Summer 2010, this extraordinary residence hall will be offered to Individual Interns selecting housing for nine or more weeks, Long-Term Stay/Intern Groups selecting housing for 63+ consecutive nights, and to GW Academic-Year students who are assigned to South Hall for Fall 2010 and also select to stay the entire Summer season.
